From September 2009 the one year Foundation Course at Cambridge Performing Arts now offers students the option to work towards a recognised qualification. This is a level 3 qualification in Musical Theatre, validated by Trinity College, London.
The Foundation Course is designed for students who are either late starters or who wish to add dance to other skills such as acting or singing. A strong emphasis is placed on the study of classical ballet and jazz technique from the beginning, with contemporary and tap as additional dance subjects. These are studied alongside singing, acting, musical theatre and supported by contextual studies.
The Bodywork Foundation Course is one of the oldest and most established foundation courses in this country, successfully placing students onto diploma and degree courses, both in Cambridge and throughout the UK.
